The CBP Difference

CBP Chiropractors and Chiropractors are in many ways analogous to orthodontists and dentists.  Whereas the dentist drills and fills taking care of the emergency, the pain… the orthodontist finally and hopefully aligns your teeth as best as possible.  This allows your teeth to be less susceptible to degeneration, decay, cosmetically allows you to be more attractive and above gives your teeth and gums the potential of being as healthy as possible.  In other words, Chiropractors utilizing Chiropractic-Biophysics (CBP) assume the role of the dentist and the orthodontist.

Think about this…

The main purpose of your spine is to house and protect your spinal cord and brain stem. As we all know, the spinal cord and brain stem deliver the life-giving electrical impulses generated from your brain to every cell tissue in your body.  We further know what would happen if we take this electrical impulse away from our body…death.  In the same manner if the life-giving impulse was interfered with to a part of your body, (for example, the stomach, liver, ovary, heart, lung, etc.) what would happen to that body part?  Obviously, it probably could not function the way it was suppose to and after weeks or months, the organ would degenerate and you now experience a symptom.  And because some of us don’t know any better, we think we should take an Asprin, Motrin, Maalox, Rolaids, Prematin, Alupent, or some other pharmaceutical deficiency.  When in fact what is happening is that the bones of your spine(vertebrae) are miss-aligned creating interference to the electrical impulse.  This is called a subluxation (sub-luks-ay-shun).  In addition

Why is having your spine aligned so important?

It has been said “You are as healthy as your spine.”  The closer your spine is to its normal alignment, the stronger and more stable it is; and this plays a vital role in your overall health.to problems with your organs, subluxations can cause disc and bony degeneration (arthritis) and a deterioration of the spinal cord and nerves.

What are these procedures and techniques?
Based on your postural and/or x-rays, and examination findings your CBP Chiropractor will design a specific program to help you correct your subluxations.  This program may consist of any of the following procedures…

Specific Chiropractic Bio-physics type adjustments not to be confused with spinal manipulation.  Unfortunately, the words manipulation and adjustment are sometimes used interchangeably and it is very important to remember that these two procedures are distinctly different.  The adjustment is designed to move a vertebra back to its normal position as evidenced by  x-ray and/or posture.  Manipulation is not necessarily designed to re-align the spine.  Although you may experience a “snap, crack, or pop” giving some temporary relief.  Manipulation is basically designed to take a spinal joint through its normal range of motion and then some.

It is important to realize that your CBP Doctor is concerned with your entire spine and structure and if necessary will work with you on all these areas.
